Kutcha Edwards delivers the inaugural Bringing Them Home Oration at the National Library of Australia.

The Bringing Them Home Oral History project ran between 1998 and 2002. The project was established by the Library in response to the first recommendation of Bringing Them Home: Report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from Their Families by the Commonwealth of Australia in 1997.

Australians from across the nation told us their experiences of the laws and policies which created the Stolen Generations. First Australians people who were taken away from their families or had children forcibly removed, shared their intimate stories over hundreds of hours of recordings. These are held in the national collection to preserve them on the public record. In commemoration of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who found the strength to share their stories, the Library invites you to join us for our next Deadly Dialogue event, the Inaugural Bringing Them Home Oration with Kutcha Edwards.

Entry is free but bookings are essential.
