Community Conversations: Navigating Aged Care in the ACT
Community members and carers tell us that it can be hard to know what to do, and where to go when considering aged care options. Often decisions get left until a crisis occurs or circumstances change and then it can be stressful and hard to know what to do.
If you’ve been confused by this, come along to hear from speakers from across the public, private and community sector about the services and pathways into aged care in the ACT.
You will hear from:
Canberra Health Services – Aged Care Transitions and Allied Health in the Community
ADACAS – Aged Care Advocacy Service
COTA – Council of the Aging for Older Australians
Dementia Australia – Support for Dementia at Home
Care Finders – Community Options and Meridian
Northside Community Servies – Care at Home Team
+ More
How it will run:
The audience will be seated at tables of 6-8 people with food and drinks, and each speaker will rotate around the room to provide a 5-7min presentation, and answer questions on their service, for each table.
We will share clear information on the different options available for aged care services in the ACT, to help community members, carers, and workers in the sector to gain knowledge on what is available.
We invite families, carers, workers and any other interested community members to come along armed with your list of questions!
