Gelli printing is an experimental, spontaneous, and highly enjoyable process—easy to learn and often quickly addictive. Throughout this 6-week course at Tuggeranong Arts Centre, you’ll explore the wide range of creative possibilities this versatile medium offers. Guided by printmaker Jo Hollier, you’ll be encouraged to work in a playful, open, and fearless way. The course introduces a variety of techniques, including creating textures with found materials, incorporating botanical elements, working with stencils, and developing expressive brush marks. As your confidence grows, you’ll be invited to experiment with image transfers, exploring wax resist methods, and combining gel printing with traditional drawing techniques. Suitable for complete beginners, this course is ideal for anyone curious to explore printmaking, regardless of prior experience.
