DESCRIPTION:Join the National Library for a paw-sitive reading experience with the Story Dogs program. \nTrained volunteers and their accredited dogs create a nurturing environment where children can practice reading aloud without fear of judgement. This unique program aims to make reading fun\, helping children become confident\, lifelong readers. \nYoung people aged 7 to 12 are invited to read to a friendly and attentive dog in a relaxed setting just outside our Bookshop in the Foyer. \nVery small children (under 7) can meet the dogs and volunteers but cannot participate directly in the reading sessions. \nTwo dogs will be onsite for each session\, however places are limited and bookings are essential. \nThis event will repeat on the last Sunday of every month for the remainder of the year\, and you’re welcome to book ahead on the Library website. \nThis program is presented in partnership with Story Dogs.
