Join us at The Compassionate Stakes\, Canberra’s most exciting novelty racing event\, on Sunday\, 27th October 2024\, at Glebe Park\, from 11am to 4pm! \nThe Compassionate Stakes is a one-of-a-kind experience where participants race in inflatable T-Rex and Unicorn costumes for a day filled with laughter and compassion. The event offers an ethical\, cruelty-free alternative to traditional horse racing\, while raising awareness about animal welfare and supporting Little Oak Sanctuary’s rescue efforts for ex-racehorses. \nWith 10 thrilling races open to the public\, including the grand finale\, The Compassionate Stakes at 3:30pm\, there’s plenty of excitement for everyone. Kids can get involved too\, with Dino-Egg & Spoon races\, while spectators can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. \nOur fabulous Drag Queen MC will keep the energy high throughout the day\, with Fashion Off the Field prizes awarded to the best-dressed guests. Plus\, there’s a variety of delicious vegan food to enjoy\, including Vietnamese street food from Au Lac\, Future Swirl soft serve\, and a veggie sausage sizzle from Little Oak. \nExplore stalls from local animal welfare groups like Greyhound Rescue and the Animal Defenders Office\, and learn how we can all make kinder choices for animals. \nWhether you’re racing or cheering from the sidelines\, The Compassionate Stakes promises to be a fun and meaningful day out\, perfect for the whole family!
