When 12 Sep, 2018 7:30pm — 15 Sep, 2018 7:30pm Where Canberra Theatre Centre, Canberra Website http://www.cytc.net/production/fading/
Fading has been developed collaboratively drawing on the cast’s individual and ensemble responses to transitioning from childhood to adulthood. It explores the effect of the expectations that are placed upon the individual, the pressure that comes with becoming an adult, and the grief of the childhood left behind. The work is post dramatic in its form, using metaphor to convey the pressures felt at this age and how we navigate these.

Fading is part of Canberra Theatre Centre’s Education Program, which aims to offer students live theatre experiences to encourage critical thinking, build empathy and raise ethical questions leading to personal growth. There will be two matinee performances in the season, specifically for students in years 10 – 12, with post show Q&A sessions.

Fading is directed by Katie Cawthorne with original lighting and sound design by the CYT Technical Theatre Team, alongside Kimmo Vennonen and Gillian Schwabb.
