Teen Start-Up: The Science of Everyday

Through games, building activities and design challenges children will be introduced to the role played by the natural, formal and social sciences in everyday life.

This 2-day school holiday program is suitable for students aged 8-11 years (no previous science ability is assumed).

DAY 1 (THURSDAY):
Creative Thinking Challenge - How does your brain work?
Collaboration Challenge - What is Citizen Science?
Communication Challenge - How does advertising persuade?
Idea Generation Challenge - Science and recycling in the home

DAY 2 (FRIDAY):
Design Thinking Challenge - What makes a house, energy efficient?
Critical Thinking Challenge - How are cities designed?
Problem Solving Challenge - What is the sharing economy?
Collaboration Challenge - Powering our Cities

Thursday 11 and Friday 12 January 2018
9:00am to 4:00pm
(Registration from 8:30am, and supervision provided until 4:30pm)

$180.00 (+GST) per student for the two-day program
$160.00 (+ GST) per student for 2 or more children
