Neurofibromatosis, or NF, is the term for three distinct genetic conditions – NF1, NF2, and Schwannomatosis. NF is a lifelong condition affecting 1 in 2,500 births and causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body. The varied condition has a wide range of severity
and can lead to an array of complications including learning difficulties, blindness, deafness, bone deformities, cancer, and chronic pain.

The Children’s Tumour Foundation of Australia (CTF), is the leading national non-profit organisation dedicated to raising funds, awareness and support for neurofibromatosis. As the key fundraising body, CTF works to raise funds and awareness through various fundraising events and initiatives. Funds raised through CTF’s fundraising initiatives help to further world-class research conducted at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute to assist in developing medical treatments and eventually finding a cure. Funds are invested in other projects around the country to ensure that coverage and service delivery is consistent wherever the person may be, as well as providing much-needed support services to NF families around the country.

On the 19 Feb, 2017, hundreds of people around the country are going to be stripping down to their undies and taking part in the Cupid’s Undie Run – www.cupidsundierun.com.au
This event is going to be held in 12 capital and regional cities and with the help of Olympians such as Libby Trickett, Emma McKeon, Emma Tonegato and Melissa Wu amongst others, it is expected that over 1000 people nationally, will bare their bum in their Bond’s undies!
All of this is for a great cause, The Children’s Tumour Foundation (CTF), Australia’s leading organisation looking after people with Neurofibromatosis. A common aspect of this condition is the growth of tumours on the outside of the body, so getting down to your undies and feeling a little bit uncomfortable is a way of showing solidarity with people affected with the condition.
The aim is to raise over $375,000 and this will go towards local and national programs to support the NF community.
The Nine Network are official media partners for this event with a TVC airing in January and Bonds are official undie sponsors.
The CEO of CTF, Richard Hughes, called on all of the community to be part of this significant event. “We are very excited to take the Cupid’s Undie Run event national, in 2017! It is a great way to raise awareness of NF and do so in such a fun and unique way,” Mr Hughes said.
